Disclaimer

River to Sea Scotland accepts its responsibility to make its sessions as safe as is reasonably practicable. In doing so, correct safety equipment and briefs will be provided, as well as staff being ‘current’, fully qualified and operating within their National Governing Body remit. However, adventurous activities are inherently hazardous and cannot be completely risk-free.

Participants should be aware that paddling can be dangerous. Hazards include (but not limited to); drowning, hypothermia, repetitive strain injury, slips, trips, falls, biological hazards from water, skeletal/ muscular injuries from paddling or moving equipment. River to Sea Scotland can accept no responsibility for death, injury or loss / damage to personal property, unless caused by our negligence.

We do not have any responsibility whatsoever for loss or damage to your personal belongings. You should be aware that any water-resistant containers supplied by us are not guaranteed to be waterproof. Therefore, you should not rely solely on the water-resistant containers that we supply to keep your property dry, and you accept that you are taking your personal property onto the water at your own risk.

I understand and accept the above statements and accept that I have a responsibility to take careful note of instructions, and to act in a way that will minimise the likelihood of injury. I am fit for the session and will inform River to Sea Scotland before the activity of any medical conditions that might affect my safety. For your safety, River to Sea Scotland reserves the right to stop the session if they feel safety briefings are not being followed. No refund will be given if this occurs.

Cancellations

Deposits & Payment

Full payment (100% of the total trip cost) is required at the time of booking to secure your place.
Of this amount, 25% of the total trip cost is non-refundable.

The remaining 75% is refundable in line with the cancellation policy below.

Cancellations by the Customer

Guided Trips

More than 3 weeks before the trip start date:
The 25% non-refundable portion will be retained.
The remaining 75% will be refunded in full.

Within 3 weeks of the trip start date:
The 25% non-refundable portion will be retained.
A 50% refund of the total trip cost will be issued (this excludes the non-refundable 25%).

Within 72 hours of the trip start date:
The booking is non-refundable.

GGCT Hire/Multi-day 

Full payment is required at the time of booking, with 25% of the total cost being non-refundable.

More than 7 days before the hire start date:
The 25% non-refundable portion will be retained.
Any remaining balance paid will be refunded in full.

Within 7 days of the hire start date:
The booking is non-refundable.

All cancellation requests must be made in writing and are effective from the date they are received.

Cancellations by RTSS

If River to Sea Scotland is required to cancel a trip (for example, due to extreme weather or safety concerns), we will make every reasonable effort to offer an alternative date.

If an alternative date is accepted, the booking will be transferred at no additional cost.

If an alternative date cannot be agreed, customers may choose between:
• a 75% refund of the total booking cost (the 25% non-refundable portion will be retained), or
• a voucher for 100% of the total booking value, valid for future trips.

Additional Notes

We strongly recommend that all participants take out travel insurance that includes trip cancellation, medical coverage, and personal liability. This ensures you’re financially protected in case unexpected events prevent you from attending/finishing the trip. River to Sea Scotland is not responsible for additional costs incurred by customers (such as travel or accommodation) in the event of a cancellation.

Photos

During the session, if you give us permission, River to Sea Scotland will take photos to capture your experience. We will send you copies of these at the end of the day. We may also use these for marketing and promotional reasons. Please let us know if you do not wish us to use these pictures in the ways described above.
