Meet Max…

Hi my name is Max and I am one of the guides and owners of River to Sea Scotland. I have always found joy in being outside in the mountains and rivers come rain or sun. This got me thinking why not make my passions into my job?

So I did.

I started my journey at Glasgow Kelvin College where I gained valuable skills and qualifications to step out into the world of instructing. Soon enough I found myself travelling the world working in a few places like Norway, Australia, Austria and Japan. Having worked in many different countries around the world I always found myself returning home to Scotland for its beauty and vast wilderness. Now settled in the highlands of Scotland with my partner Laura, we spend our time exploring the outdoor playground right on our doorstep along with our dogs Bruar & Tummel.

Meet Laura…

My name is Laura, originally from Maine, in the United States, I have always had a passion for being outside. My parents were both guides in the outdoor industry, working all around the world…it was only time until I followed in their footsteps.

I ended up in Scotland in 2013 and haven’t looked back since. Travelling and working in the outdoors in the southern hemisphere I always found myself gravitating back to bonnie Scotland. I found my passion with water, whether that’s in or on and not always my choice! Scotland has some of the most beautiful rivers and breathtaking lochs to explore. Luckily we are near the coast to enjoy the crystal clear water…you’d think you were in the Mediterranean.

I have worked for many outdoor companies around Scotland, giving me an amazing platform to gain knowledge and experience. I have always dreamed of owning my own company and now I get to share that with my partner, Max. We are over the moon to be the owners of River to Sea Scotland and can’t wait to share some amazing experiences with you all and leave with memories.
