Loch Moidart / Glenuig: Castles and Beaches
About the trip
On this trip you will enjoy ever-changing and spectacular scenery, including castles, islands and beaches. You are also very likely to spot some local Scottish wildlife.
Upon meeting in Glenuig, we will discuss the best paddling location for YOU based on what you want to get out of the day and the weather / tidal forecast. Whichever decision you choose, our launch point will be less than 10mins drive from this central meeting location.
The trip will start by us helping you get comfortable controlling your craft and getting a feel for the water. We will go at the right pace for you as we are aware that everyone has different water confidence and paddling ability. We will give full instruction for those who are beginners and tips for seasoned paddlers. Once you are ‘up and running’, we will start our journey out of the sea loch and towards either Eilean Shona or Eilean nan Gobhar. As we head out of the bay and the sea-scape opens up, keep your eyes peeled for inquisitive seals and other marine life.
We will aim to have lunch on a beautiful, remote, white sandy beach, in a location only accessible by boat. This will be the perfect spot to soak up the sun, go for a dip if you are into your wild swimming and reconnect with nature.
Trips run from 10:00 – 16:00, allowing plenty of time to explore the coastlines, watch the wildlife and relax on pristine beaches. All our trips are private, therefore exclusive to you and your party, which allow for the following:
- Trip timings can be altered to suit your needs.
- You dictate the pace and how much time is spent paddling the coastlines vs relaxing on the beaches and islands.
- Locations of the trip can be altered if the forecasted conditions are looking more favourable on a different stretch of coastline that day.
Tell us what you want on your booking form, or call in advance to discuss and we will tailor the trip to suit you. We will provide advice on what to wear and details about exact meeting spots within your emailed booking confirmation.
