Loch Eilt: World of Wizardry
About the trip
This is a ‘must do’ for Harry Potter fans! Start your day with a visit to the Glenfinnan viaduct as the Hogwarts Express races across at 10.50am. Pick from a variety of viewing spots to watch the train approach and pass, steam billowing and its whistle screaming.
From here, take the short drive to Loch Eilt, where we will meet you for a day of magical Harry Potter themed canoeing experiences. During our paddle we will visit the scenes of Dumbledore’s grave, arguably one of the most somber moments in the series. We will also land on Hagrids beach, where Harry and his crew find him skimming stones following the trial of his beloved Buckbeak. As we continue our journey, imagine dodging the Death Eaters, whilst the Jacobite Steam train passes on its return from Mallaig. There will be lots of opportunities to take awesome photos from the water.
As trips are tailored to your group (no mixed bookings), we will set the pace according to your experience and wishes. You may prefer spending more time exploring and taking photographs, or may even want to make time for a swim. Tell us what you want on your booking form, or call to discuss in advance and we will tailor the trip to suit you.
Trips run from 11:30 – 16:15, allowing plenty of time to explore the scenes and soak up the magic of the beautiful Loch Eilt. We will provide advice on what to wear and details about exact meeting spots with your emailed booking confirmation.
No previous experience needed as full instruction will be given.

“Excellent canoeing adventure keeping the kids entertained all day!!! We were two families with mixed ages of kids from 6 to 14, and did the world of wizards tours for our sons 12th birthday. Reece was great throughout the day going through the water safety and supplying all technical equipment which was all in excellent condition. He made the day great fun visiting Harry Potter locations with special surprises for the kids on route as well as fun and games on route. As well as a birthday cake for our son!!! We all enjoyed the day and everything was very relaxed and at a pace that suited our group. Would highly recommend and will definitely book again next year when we visit Scotland.” – Steve D (TripAdvisor)
