Loch Oich: Castles and Shipwrecks
About the trip
Based out of Loch Oich, our castles and shipwrecks trip is full of local history and adventure. Although this loch is smaller than the others we provide trips on, it’s full of character. Due to the topography, there is a new view around every corner, revealing lots of hidden gems to explore.
This loch also offers a range of options dependent on the weather conditions. If the winds pick up, we can take full advantage of this and hoist the canoe sails. If we want to escape the breeze, we can head for the shelter of the tree lined canal. Even if it’s raining, we still have interesting options – we can head to the play wave that is generated where Loch Oich feeds into the River Oich for some additional excitement, putting your new found paddling skills to the test!
As all trips are private (no mixed bookings):
- Trip timings can be altered to suit your other holiday plans.
- Trip locations can be altered if the forecasted conditions are looking more favourable on a different stretch of water that day.
- If you’re a family booking, let us know what age range your children are and we will come armed with plenty of games and challenges to keep the day varied and exciting for them.
- If you think you might want to take advantage of the white water play wave on the entrance to the river, please let us know on your booking form so we can bring helmets.
Help us make this the highlight of your holiday by letting us know on your booking form if there is anything we can do to make this trip extra special for you.

“Perfect day with Reece on Loch Oich. Great communication before so he really knew what we were looking for. Firstly the gear was in amazing condition, Reece made us all feel confident and taught us how to use the canoes, we are all beginners only been out a few times before. The games we played were so much fun and it kept the kids going and the adults. Reece knew what our abilities were we all felt at ease. This was one of the rare days that as a family of 5 everyone was happy for the whole day and this was all down to Reece knowing the area and his sense of fun. Really could not recommend enough and we will be back soon for our next adventure ” – Wendy Lev (TripAdvisor)
